KEYSTONE: Elaine Leone Kromminga, 74, died Saturday, May 18, 2013 at the Keystone Nursing Care Center in Keystone, with her children at her side. Elaine quietly dealt with many health issues throughout her life and fought her last courageous battle with lung cancer over the past two years. Lola L. Cummings, 93, of Bremerton passed away peacefully at home on May 1, 2013 at the Willows Retirement Apartments. She was born May 28, 1919 in Aurora, Iowa to George C. and Ina May (Clark) Kaiser. Lola grew up in Iowa and graduated from high school in Vinton, Iowa in 1937. Ellen Elaine Whipple West, 102 years young, passed away peacefully on December 21, 2012 in Tucson, Arizona. Her daughters Susan and Sandy were at her side. Elaine’s Celebration of Life Service will be 1:30 p.m., Saturday, May 18, 2013, at Morgan Funeral Choices, Mount Vernon. Private family graveside service will be in the Whipple family plot at Evergreen Cemetery, Vinton.

BRANDON -- Frances M. Hilliard, 90, of Vinton, formerly of Brandon, died Thursday, April 25, 2013, at the Vinton Lutheran Home.
Per Frances’ wishes, her body will be cremated and laid to rest in the Urbana Cemetery.
Frances was born July 8, 1922, in rural Garrison, Iowa, the daughter of Carl and Carrie Mossman Wenner. She married Laurence A.
