LITTLETON, CO - Cathy Mahood Froning, 64, formerly of Vinton, died Tuesday, July 22, 2014, in Littleton, CO, after a long battle with cancer. A rosary and funeral mass will be celebrated in Littleton. Service times can be found at www.HoranCares.com. Inurnment in St. Mary Cemetery, Vinton, will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 29, 2014. Following inurnment, family and friends will gather at Celebration Park.

Cathy Mahood Froning was born March 21, 1950, in Vinton to Robert and Miriam Mahood. She graduated from Vinton High School in 1968 and attended the University of Iowa. She married Tom Froning July 19, 1969, and they later divorced. Cathy was a respiratory therapist, retiring May 2, 2014, from St. Anthony's Hospital in Denver after 32 years.

She is survived by her fiancée, Mike Clausen, Larkspur, CO; children, Heather (Chad) Hill, Lisbet (John) Carter and Ryan Froning; seven grandchildren; three siblings, Muriel (Dennis) Wood, Delhi, IA, Bob Mahood (Tami Stark), Vinton, IA, and Lisa (Tim) Burgess, South Point, OH.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Kristi.
