Obituaries : Linda Louise Brandscomb

Linda Louise Branscomb, 69, died Sunday, December 2, 2018, at Virginia Gay Hospital in Vinton following a brief illness with liver cancer. Linda had a giving spirit and was an organ/tissue donor through the Iowa Lions Eye Bank. A memorial service will be held 1:00 p.m. Saturday, December 8, 2018, at Van Steenhuyse-Russell Funeral Home in Vinton, with Pastor Duane Potter officiating. Inurnment will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Shellsburg. Linda was born February 28, 1949, in Vinton, Iowa, the daughter of Orie and Elsie Weatherwax Stevenson. She graduated from Washington High School in Vinton. On July 17, 1981, Linda was united in marriage with Dan Branscomb in Vinton. Linda worked for Amana Refrigeration for 27 years, retiring in 1997. She enjoyed flower gardening, archery and coloring in adult coloring books. Linda is survived by her husband of 37 years, Dan, of Vinton; one son, Timothy Stevenson of Mt. Vernon; one granddaughter, Katrina Hamilton; and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Dennis Stevenson. A memorial fund has been established.
