Travis was born, on July 12, 1980 in Cedar Rapids, the son of Gale and Bev (Hymes) Speer. Travis took great pride in brewing a number of different craft beers and loved to share with others. He enjoyed camping on the river with his family and visiting National Parks and attending races. He was a maintenance man for all he knew, fixing, helping sharing tools, and was a real "jack of all trades".

He is survived by his wife Bridget of Atkins; his children whom he loved dearly, Michael, Joel, and Emma; his parents, Gale and Bev Speer; sister Stephanie (Matt) Matheny; brother Kyle (Sarah) Speer; several nieces and nephews; and numerous aunts and uncles. He was claimed by all the Donlon Family as one of their own.

He was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents.
