Obituaries : Verona Stumma

Verona L. Stumma, 77, of Brandon, Iowa died Sunday afternoon, November 25, 2012 at Mercy Medical Center, Cedar Rapids.
Verona was born on March 26, 1935, near Shady Grove, the daughter of Keith M. and Leola P. (Bearbower) Stumma. She graduated from the Washington High School, Vinton, in 1953 and later from Pitzies Cosmetology School in Waterloo. She owned and operated her own beauty salons in Vinton and Washburn, prior to becoming employed with Iowa Work Force Development in Waterloo until her retirement in 2007.
Verona is survived by a sister; Frances (Tom) Radcliffe, Vinton, and many nieces and nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother Roger Stumma and a nephew Stacy Stumma.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM Thursday at the Brandon United Methodist Church, Brandon, with Rev. Lanette Van officiating. Burial will be in the Brandon Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 8 PM Wednesday at the Reiff Funeral Home & Crematory in Independence, and from 9 A.M. till services Thursday at the church.
