Vinton—Betty Steinberg, 72, died Sunday, March 17, 2013, at the Vinton Lutheran Home.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, March 20, 2013 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Vinton with Rev. Stephen K. Preus officiating. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until service time at the church on Wednesday. Burial at Evergreen Cemetery, Vinton.
Betty was born December 16, 1940 in Cedar Rapids, the daughter of Louis and Blanche Peterson Tow. She was raised in Fairfax and graduated from Prairie High School in 1959. On August 10, 1963 she married Robert Steinberg in Illinois. The couple moved to Vinton in 1965. Betty was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and she enjoyed bowling, embroidery and trout fishing with Bob in her spare time.
She is survived by her children, Cindy Shaffer, Vinton, Shirley (Gary) Fowler, North Buena Vista, IA, Randy (Michelle) Steinberg, Washington, IA, Tracy Roster and Scott (Melissa) Steinberg, both of Vinton; sisters, Cynthia (Larry) Sheldon, Cedar Rapids, Peggy Lint, Lansing, IA, Kathy (Ken) Hall, Hiawatha, IA and brother, Tommy (Theresa) Tow, Champaign, IL; thirteen grandchildren, two great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Bob, in 2001; her sisters, Beverly Meyers and Joann Kuhse and brothers-in-law, Dean Kuhse and Everett Lint.
A memorial fund has been established.
