VINTON: Bob Utterback, 84, died Monday, March 18, 2013 at the University Of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City.

A Funeral Service will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, March 21, 2013 at Phillips Family Center, 605 2nd Ave. in Vinton with Rev. David Gates officiating.Interment will be held at Evergreen Cemetery in Vinton with Graveside Military Rites conducted by Geo. G. Luckey American Legion Post #57 of Vinton.Friends may register at the Family Center from 10 a.m. until service time.

Bob was born November 10, 1928 in Pleasant Vale Township of Pike County Illinois to Clarence and Mary Ellen (Coustable) Utterback.

From 1951 to 1957 he served his nation in the US Army.In 1976 he was united in marriage to Pearl Sells Spangler and she preceded him in death.

Prior to his retirement, Bob was a self employed roofer.

He is survived by his children, Robert, Dale and Ellen; his grandchildren, Logan, Noah, and Braden of Marion, and Shelley, Stephanie, and Erin of Vinton; his great grandchildren, Kylie and Eleanor of Vinton; and his sister, Bonnie Cobb of Macolm, IL.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his daughter-in-law, Cherie.
