First rule of winter driving safety: DON'T!

It's 1:25 pm on November 26, 2012, and the kitchen is finally cleaned up. The left overs are all packaged up after a trip to the grocery store this morning to buy more storage containers. A double batch of turkey and rice soup was made, pronounced "good," and put in the freezer for winter suppers.
There were only three of us for the Thanksgiving meal, but we had enough to feed fifteen people. Are there too many college bowl games?
I come from the era when there were less than 10 bowl games. Yes, less than 10.
The first year I really remember paying that much attention to the bowls was in the 1965-66 season. You had the four New Year’ Day games: Sugar, Cotton, Rose and Orange. Then, you had five lesser bowls that were played in the days before Jan.

Puppy Love
The term "puppy love" brings about the vision of young kids in love, usually for the first time, who see their lives together with that special someone as a "til death do us part" possibility.
I, on the other hand, have seen what TRUE puppy love is.
On Thanksgiving we took off for the day, chaining our usual inside dog, outside, since no one would be home to let her outside as needed.

We received this menacing message via our Vinton Today comment page this week from a man I will call MR. X.
MR. X saw his name in Vinton Today, and did not like what he read.
I do not blame him.
Another man with a virtually identical name was sentenced to many years in jail for doing something incredibly horrible.
