Editor: You in the "Resist" movement, just what do you hope to accomplish? Do you want secure borders? Do you want MS-13 gang members jailed and then deported? Do you want ISIS defeated? Do you want pro- growth policies so that the working middle class can receive higher wages and more economic security? Do you want our military stronger and better trained? Do you want Sanctuary cities ended? Do you want drug dealers stopped at the border and imprisoned? Do you want the opiod epidemic ended? Do you want shootings in the inner cities to end? Your little red and green cardboard signs seem third grade to me.

To the Editor, John Stiegelmeyer wants to know why there is uproar about the hastily written and financially unscored Trumpcare bill. Seems like no one, including many Republicans do not like the bill that they rammed through the House.

Dear Editor: What is all the uproar over the House Passed health care act?? It's not law yet as it has to go to the Senate where it will undoubtedly be changed and if passed will go back to the House for reconciliation.

The House of Representatives may vote on the American Health Care Act (AHCA) as early as Saturday. Inthis version is an amendment that may again cause consumers to be denied coverage based on preexistinghealth conditions.

A little over 7 years ago, life handed us what we thought was the biggest lemon. Then someone handed us a cookbook. You can make run of the mill lemonade if you want, but as we looked at the lemon we thought perhaps, just maybe, we could make the best lemon meringue.

One of the very few bummers about living in Iowa is that we are too many hours from too many historical sites. I wanted to be two places at once on Wednesday: Philadelphia, 1,000 miles east of Vinton; and Oklahoma City, 650 miles south and west.
