Opinion : Letter to the Editor: Let voters have say on Conservation funding

Let the voters decide! Let the voters decide! That was the mantra of the campaign season. Well, 63% of the voters decided to create a Natural Resources & Outdoor Recreation Trust Fund but Branstad, who is not governor, yet, and Rep. Kraig Paulsen, who is not Speaker of the House, yet, has already decided that the will of the people will not be funded, thus thwarting the majoritys wishes. Isn't this being "activist," "usurping the will of the people?" Funny, how one day suddenly changes the priorities. Following the "will of the people" was so important on November 1 but already by November 3rd the will of the people to create the trust fund has fallen to political agendas This is just the start of putting politics ahead of the "will of the people" and reneging on campaign promises made just to get elected. No surprise here, a rerun of Branstad will be like the first performance
