VSHS Wrestling Coach Joel Neve said the 312 participants in Saturday's Vinton-Shellsburg Wrestling Club's annual tournament outnumber last year's participants by about 75.

VS wrestlers raise $3,705 with Labor Auction

One of the newer traditions at Vinton-Shellsburg High School is the wrestling labor auction. This year's event took place Monday at the high school, with long-time auctioneer Duane Johnson taking bids.

With three top 10 finishers, the Vinton-Shellsburg girls cross country team earned a place in the State meet. Sophomore Lily Horst finished second during the qualifying meet Thursday, at Waverly.
