  On Monday, Aug. 27, the South West Community College (SWCC) Spartan volleyball team, which includes 2012 VS graduate Ashley Strong, kicked off their season by travelling to Southeast Nebraska Community Collegein Beatrice, NE.

The VSHS XC boys team took First place with a team score of 53 points Tues night at Williamsburg.  Girls varsity team placed 4th out of a total of 9 teams.

Benton County Speedway Alzheimer's Awareness Night‏ a Success

  After mother nature's win the past two weeks, the Benton County Speedway was able to return to racing action Sunday, August 26th. The twice postponed Alzheimer's Awareness night, coupled with Halloween in August, raised over $1,200 for the local Alzheimer's Association.
