Derek Dinderman earned a spot in the individual state cross country meet with his 10th place finish.
Vinton-Shellsburg junior Derek Dinderman finished 10th in the state qualifying meet in Waverly on Thursday, earning a spot in the State Cross Country individual event, which takes place Saturday, Nov. 2.
As a team, the boys fell one place short, finishing fourth in total team points.
