Sports : VS teams begin state competition today; coach shares unusual 'omen'

Coach Kalous says today's speeding ticket is an omen of how fast the team will be at State.

Heather Kalous hopes the speeding ticket she got on the way to school today is a good omen.

The Vinton-Shellsburg High School girls track coach showed the ticket to the student body during the pep rally before the athletes left for the 3-day event at The Blue Oval of Drake Stadium.
