VS CPU girls swam at Kennedy last night in a JV meet against, Kennedy, Williamsburg, and Tipton. VS came in 3rd in team standings - winning 5 events and taking second in another. We would have had first place (by about 12 seconds) in a sixth event but got disqualified on an early relay exchange in the Medley Relay.
Olivia Schminke won each of her individual events (200 IM and 100 Freestyle) and was part of the two winning relays, anchoring the 200 Free Relay with a solid split of 26.95. Brie Carolan took home an individual win in the 100 Backstroke and added third place points in the 100 Freestyle (as well as being part of the two winning relays). Freshman Kenna Miller cut almost a second to finish 2nd in the 50 Freestyle in 31.08, and also cut time in her 100 Breaststroke to finish 4th overall. And Freshman Martavia Hunt also took home an individual first place in the 200 Freestyle. A solid night of confidence for the VS-CPU Stormin' Vikettes!
We're at home against Tipton tomorrow night (Thurs Sept 26), start time 4:30pm at the Braille School pool.
