  State Treasurer Michael L. Fitzgerald announced today that the deduction amount for those saving for their children's educations through College Savings Iowa has once again been raised. "Iowa taxpayers can now deduct the first $2,865 they contribute to a College Savings Iowa account from their state taxable income," said Fitzgerald.

Tri-State Beef Day set for January 27

  Local beef producers will have the opportunity to receive the latest beef industry information at the 2011 Tri-State Beef Day on January 27.  The meeting will be offered at two different times and locations: the Crawford County Administration Building in Prairie du Chien and the Postville Community Room in Postville.  The Prairie du Chien session will run from 10 am to 3 pm and the Postville session will run from 4 -9 pm.
