Red Cedar Chamber Music and the Benton County Historical Society bring Strum & Jam,an exciting Rural Outreach concert for flute, clarinet, violin, cello and guitar, to Wesley United Methodist Church at 516 2nd Ave. in Vinton, Iowa at 7 p.m. on Friday April 27, 2012. 'Capone's Whiskey' tickets still available; showing tonight at Palace
There are still tickets available for tonight’s special screening of “Capone’s Whiskey: The Story of Templeton Rye.” Doors open at 6 p.m. and tickets may be purchased at the door, however, patrons are advised to buy in advance (www.vintonpalace.org) or arrive early to ensure seating. As of Friday morning at 8 am, 128 reservations have been secured for the documentary presentation.

April 21 concert: VSHS choir members to train, perform with Young Artists
The Simon Estes Foundation’s Young Artist Performance Program will be in residence April 20-21, 2012 in Vinton. Young Artists Shelby VanNordstrand, soprano and Joshua Markley, baritone accompanied by Jodi Goble, piano will perform in recital along with the Vinton-Shellsburg High School Chamber Choir on Saturday April 21 7 p.m. at the Vinton-Shellsburg High School.
'Capone's Whiskey:' Documentary on Iowa-made Templeton Rye coming to Palace
Modern American Cinema has announced that Kristian Day's Capone's Whiskey: The Story of Templeton Rye will be playing at the Palace Theatre. The showing takes place at 7 p.m. Friday, April 20. Tickets are $7.
Kristian Day’s documentary film chronicles the history of the infamous whiskey cookers of Carroll County, Iowa, from their outlaw days of Prohibition to when the liquor became legal in 2006.
