NATURE SMILES ON CP FRIENDS OF LIBRARY GARDEN WALK

Center Point Friends of the Library drew the most perfect day of June for the Garden Walk the 23rd. Host gardens ranged from the jewel box garden of Library neighbor Roberta Heitman to the gigantic conifer-featuring plantings of Craig and Karen Batcheler, who run Interstate Grain Service south of town.

Party in the Park under way; parade and fireworks on Saturday schedule

The traditional Thursday evening Party in the Park events took place under cloudy skies, but just few sprinkles fell as the weather allowed the events to go on as planned, After hot dogs and chips at Farmers Savings Bank, the children rode bikes, scooters, toy cars and other vehicles from the parking lot to the courthouse, where a variety of games and activites and a magic show were waiting for them.

Payton Yilek Named to Buena Vista University's Dean's List

Payton Yilek, of Belle Plaine, was named to the Dean's List for the Spring 2018 semester at Buena Vista University. Students named to the Dean's List must have a minimum grade point average of 3.

Library to be closed Saturday

The Vinton Public Library will be closed on Saturday, June 23 due to the Party in the Park activities.
