AmeriCorps NCCC Class 19 Corps Member Spotlight: David Chupp

By: Rebecca Bigler   David Chupp, from Connersville, Ind., is a member of Cedar 3 in NCCC’s Class 19. He arrived in Vinton on February 5, 2013, to start his 10-month service term on a team of people between the ages of 18 and 24.

By Emma Messinger   May brought with it warm weather and bright spirits to the towns along the Susquehanna River.  With the cherry blossoms in bloom, what better time to have a community day? When the FEMA Corps team Spruce 5 first came to Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania in early April the Project Outreach Liaisons Max Rusek and Kristy Reponen began the initial planning of the community day.

Local students graduate from Central College

The following local students graduated from Central College Saturday, May 11. The ceremony was held at H.S. Kuyper Fieldhouse in Pella, Iowa. There were 348 graduates from 15 states and one foreign country.

NCCC Team Helps Keep Milwaukee Green

Rachel Stothfang of Cincinnati is serving as a member of the NCCC FEMA Corps team Pine 4 at the Vinton Campus. She chose to participate in AmeriCorps NCCC FEMA Corps because she is passionate about serving others and the program seemed like a great opportunity.
