Registration for the Shellsburg Summer Reading Program kicks off May 16
The Shellsburg Summer Reading Program will begin taking registrations on May 16 and will continue through May 21.This year's program will begin on June 6 and will end on July 25. The program will include children ages 5-18. The program will include free books, crafts and prizes. Any volunteers are welcome, be sure to check in at the library to see how you can lend a hand! Universal Free School Meals Set to End on June 30, 2022
V-S CSD May 10, 2022 Did you know that Universal Free School Meals ends on June 30, 2022? How might this impact your local school district and community? Congress did not extend child nutrition waivers that have allowed schools to provide free meals for all students nationwide since March 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Governor Reynolds signs Planting Proclamation Extension
Today, Gov. Kim Reynolds signed an extension for a proclamation relating to the weight limits and hours of service requirements for the transportation of crop inputs for planting season. The extension is effective immediately and continues through June 11, 2022. The proclamation allows vehicles transporting corn, soybeans, other agricultural seed, water, herbicide, pesticide, fertilizer (dry, liquid, and gas), manure (dry and liquid), gasoline, diesel #1, diesel #2, ethanol, and biodiesel to be overweight (not exceeding 90,000 pounds gross weight) without a permit for the duration of this proclamation.
