BENTON COUNTY PUBLIC NOTICE NOTICE OF POST-ELECTION AUDIT
Pursuant to Code of Iowa Sec. 50.51, the Secretary of
State’s Office has ordered a post-election audit of the
November 2, 2021, City/School Election. By random
selection, Bruce-Cedar-Mt. Auburn will be the
precinct audited. The Benton County Auditor’s
Office will conduct this audit on Wednesday
November 10, at 1:30 p.m. The audit will take place
in the Auditor’s Office at the Benton County
Courthouse on the 2nd floor, 111 E 4th Street, Vinton,
IA.

City of Shellsburg Minutes 11/01/2021
On 11/0/-2021 a regular meeting of the Shellsburg City Council was called to order by Mayor Speckner at 6:00 pm in the Council Chambers. Roll call was answered by Reeves, Chapman, Thorkildson, Blattler, and Vogt. Vogt motioned to approve the consent agenda. Blattler second, all ayes. Thorkildson motioned to sign the Johnson County Refuse contract over to LRS of Iowa.

On Thursday, October 28th, we held our second special session to cast our votes on the second
set of maps for the U.S. congressional districts in Iowa and the Iowa House and Senate districts.
The maps passed in the Iowa Senate with only one “no” vote, and in the House with only two
“no” votes (I voted to pass these maps).
Most of Benton County will now become House District 84 and will take effect with the 2022
