City of Shellsburg Minutes10-04-21 a regular meeting of the Shellsburg City Council was called to order by Mayor Speckner at 6:00 pm in the Council Chambers. Roll call was answered by Vogt, Chapman, Reeves, and Blattler. Thorkildson was absent. Vogt motioned to approve the amended consent agenda. Blattler second. All ayes. Superintendent Robertson reported the ground storage inspection showed minor corrosion that they will keep an eye on.

Iowa receives $8 Million in Federal Funding to Build Upon Water Quality Projects
(Benton County is home to several Middle Cedar Watershed projects. One is located in Vinton, another on the Noe farm near Garrison and another one in that area...)Iowa Secretary of Agriculture Mike Naig announced today that the Iowa Department of Agriculture and Land Stewardship has received $8 million from the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) to help expand the habitat and water quality projects underway in priority watersheds, including around the North Racoon, Boone, Middle Cedar and South Skunk Rivers.
