In an effort to mitigate the potential spread of COVID-19, meeting was live streamed via VSCSD facebook page and the public could participate via zoom link.

Governors Declaration for Area 6 in Iowa (That's us)

Click to viewAccording to the declaration as of tonight at midnight, we are only allowed to meet with people from our own households. Weddings, funerals, spiritual or religious gatherings of more than 10 are prohibited. Such gatherings must comply with Paragraph B which says that you must practice social distancing of 6 feet from people that do not live in your household.

Greetings from Under the Golden Dome

As we all work to adjust during this difficult time, Iowans all across the state have been stepping up to help their neighbors and communities. Stories of people making homemade face masks for their friends, families, neighbors, or donating them to local hospitals are told daily. We have also seen local restaurants contribute food to health care providers, and Iowans purposefully supporting these local restaurants with takeout orders in an effort to keep those places in business.

Additional COVID-19 cases in Iowa, no new cases in Benton County

Today, the Iowa Department of Public Health (IDPH) has been notified of 146 additional positive cases for a total of 2,141 positive cases. There have been additional 660 negative tests for a total of 18,543 negative tests to date, which includes testing reported by the State Hygienic Lab and other labs.  According to IDPH, an additional 7 deaths were also reported, 175 are currently hospitalized, and 987 Iowans have recovered.

Reynolds signs new proclamation requiring additional measures for Region 6

Today, Gov. Reynolds signed a new proclamation continuing the State Public Health Emergency Declaration and implementing additional measures to protect residents, workers, and the public in RMCC Region 6.  The proclamation limits social, community, recreational, leisure, and sporting gatherings in RMCC Region 6 to only people who live together in the same household.

4/15/2020 Today, the Iowa Department of Public Health (IDPH) has been notified of 96 additional positive cases for a total of 1,995 positive cases. There have been additional 407 negative tests for a total of 17,874 negative tests to date, which includes testing reported by the State Hygienic Lab and other labs.  According to IDPH, an additional 4 deaths were also reported, 171 hospitalized, and 908 Iowans have recovered.

Benton County at 20 COVID cases and remains at one death

Today, the state of Iowa has released an [upd]d dashboard on coronavirus.iowa.gov that will be [upd]d daily to include comprehensive tracking of COVID-19 in Iowa. The new dashboard includes cases, deaths, and tests conducted in each county. The state will also be providing demographic information that was not previously provided as well as Iowa’s epidemiological curve.

Benton County Board of Supervisors Minutes 4/7/20

April 7, 2020The Benton County Board of Supervisors met in regular session with Supervisors Primmer, Bierschenk and Seeman were present. The meeting was called to order at 9:00 a.m. Members of the public were provided the zoom access capability to join in during open session.
