New Notice Explains Medicare Outpatient Observation Coverage

The Iowa Insurance Division's Senior Health Insurance Information Program (SHIIP) is letting Iowans know about a new Medicare Outpatient Observation Notice (MOON) which informs patients before they leave the hospital if they are outpatient or inpatient.

Red Cross Blood Drive set for March 31, at VSHS

The Vinton-Shellsburg High School will be the site of a Red Cross Blood drive from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Friday, March 31. While walk-ins are welcome, student organizers encourage participants to sign up for a specific time to avoid a wait.
