On Monday, Bret D. Klima, 32, of Urbana, was sentenced to 30 years in prison after pleading guilty to hitting a couple with his SUV. Judge Ian Thornhill sentenced Klima, after he pleaded guilty to one count of homicide by vehicle-operating under the influence and one count of serious injury by a vehicle.

Community steps up to lend a hand to the Sam and Cliff McKinley Family

Last summer Sam McKinley was in an accident that left her paralyzed. Sam and Cliff are parents of 3 little children and also farm in the Walker area. Recently the community held a fundraising benefit for the family at the Brandon Community Center.
