Week 2 & 3 Punch Card Winners

Vinton Unlimited is happy to announce that Jeremy Koopman is the week 2 winner and Ann Fry Gordon is the week 3 winner in the ‘Holiday Lights’ punch card drawing! $30,000+ Grants Available in Anderson Creek Estates

   Anderson Creek Estates is filling up fast as 13 of the original 33 lots available have been sold with strong interest on another 3-5.  Projects of all types are underway including 10 lots set aside for low-to-moderate income households and providing them with 20% down-payment assistance in the form of a 5-year forgivable mortgage.

Kwik Star to begin construction in March

A representative of Kwik Star has confirmed that construction on the new store will begin in March of 2020. The company plans to have the new store completed by the end of August 2020.Kwik Star will be located next to Theisen's along Hwy 218 and 13th St.

Santa's Mailbox to remain in front of LaGrange Pharmacy through Friday evening

Santa’s mailbox, located in front of LaGrange’s Pharmacy will remain there until Friday evening so that Santa will have plenty of time to respond AND load his sleigh in time for Christmas.Be sure to stop down and drop Santa a note!

Area Kiwanis Club gives back to area children

Several area children received gifts from the Kiwanis Division of Santa's Workshop The Vinton Kiwanis Club, and Santa wowed a group of area children on Tuesday. Following lunch at Pizza Ranch, the group, er, Santa handed out gifts to several area children. Lighting up the faces of little boys with remote-controlled cars, and little girls with dolls and makeup kits, the group, brought many smiles and laughter to the children.The group works behind the scenes of the community participating in several events to raise money so that they can turn around and hold events like this.

Benton County Sheriff's Department responds to Vehicle Accident, one fatality

ON 12-17-19, AT ABOUT 3:51 PM, THE BENTON COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE RESPONDED TO A REPORT OF A MOTOR VEHICLE ACCIDENT ON COUNTY ROAD V37, NORTH OF DYSART IA, IN BENTON COUNTY. A NORTHBOUND 2008 TOYOTA COROLLA, LOST CONTROL AND LEFT THE ROADWAY STRIKING AN EMBANKMENT. THE TOYOTA WAS DRIVEN BY PATRICIA VALDOVINOS, AGE 20, FROM WATERLOO IA AND THE DRIVER WAS THE SOLE OCCUPANT.

Sauer Appointed as Benton County Treasurer

Michele Sauer was sworn in on Tuesday after her appointment as the  Benton County Treasurer Serving the last 27 years in the Benton County Treasurer's Office, Michele Sauer was the natural selection by the Benton County Board of Supervisors to fulfill the remaining time left in Kelly Geater’s term. Sworn in with her husband and mother present, Sauer officially became the Benton County Treasurer on Tuesday.  Sauer steps up leaving her former position as the Deputy Treasurer for Benton County.
