By: Josh Wiley, Co-ReporterOn Tuesday, March 23rd, Vinton-Shellsburg FFA members participated in Drive Your Tractor to School day. Unfortunately, weather had interfered with many member’s plans to drive open-cab tractors, so only four tractors driven by Emma Wiley, Christopher Fleming, Jesse Gray, and Clayton McKenna were able to make the day.

This year, John Deere was the choice of tractors for the Future Farmers of America Chapter of the Vinton-Shellsburg High School. Four tractors were driven to town by three of the high school boys and one high school girls.

Vinton Kiwanis bring Dictionaries to Tilford Elementary

The Vinton Kiwanis Club continues to hand out "A Student's Dictionary" the Vinton-Shellsburg School District's 3rd graders.  The dictionaries contain definitions of course as well as other important tidbits of information.

The Vinton-Shellsburg National Honor Society chapter added several new members during Monday's induction ceremony.Officers conducted the official NHS ceremony, highlighted the traits of character, leadership, scholarship and service.

Post Prom Fundraiser Brings fun and Donations

Saturday volunteers from the local Kiwanis Club and the Post Prom Committee conducted a fundraising event at John's Quick Stop's new car wash.  Several vehicles showed up to the car wash and were given coupons for both free pizzas (a $50 value) from Godfather's Pizza as well as a $15 gift card for the car wash, which has the ability to be reloaded at discount prices.
