Don G. Reifenstahl

Don G. Reifenstahl, 88, passed away peacefully May 13, 2020, at the Virginia Gay Nursing & Rehab Center in Vinton, Iowa.Don was born July 19, 1931, and lived in Vinton his entire life. He was the son of Glenn and Nina (Harrison) Reifenstahl. He is survived by his daughters Becky of Bakersfield, Ca., Donna of Cedar Rapids, sons Bub, Rex, and Dan all of Vinton, 6 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, and his brother Jerry and wife Sue of Cedar Rapids.

Darlene Ann (Dickman) Suchomel

Darlene Ann (Dickman) Suchomel, age 88, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 13, 2020 at her rural Urbana home, surrounded by her family.Darlene was born on August 27, 1931, in Clarksville, the daughter of Benjamin and Gertrude (Pribbenow) Dickman.  She graduated from Marble Rock High School with the class of 1949, attended Wartburg College and Iowa State Teachers College, where she earned her teaching certificate.

Cathy Van Nevel

Cathy Van Nevel, 63, of Belle Plaine, passed away Thursday, May 7, 2020, at Keystone Care Center, following a long illness.Cathy was born Feb. 4, 1957, to Tom and Donna (Looney) Kelley in Burlington, Iowa. She graduated from Marion High School in 1976. She married Bill Van Nevel Nov. 18, 1988. Cathy and Bill loved to travel, especially going on cruises.

Joel Cronbaugh

Joel Cronbaugh, whose brother David referred to him as the purest, most innocent soul he ever knew, transitioned to his Heavenley home peacefully on May 5, 2020. A person of few words but many, many stories, Joel was a man of action who distinguished himself in many ways during his long, fore-filled life. Mostly we will all remember him for his selfless kindness, goofy sense of humor and many years of taking his fellow truck driver friends, his family of nieces and nephews and all his devoted friends to The Brick Haus in Amana for weekly and often twice a week "Cowboy" lunches.

Suzanne Snyder

Suzanne Snyder, a resident of Orchard Ridge Retirement Community of Winchester, Va., and a former resident of Belle Plaine, Iowa, died of natural causes on April 26, 2020.Born Aug. 18, 1936, the daughter of Mildred Johnson Snyder and Wallace F. Snyder, she graduated from Belle Plaine High School and received B.A. and M.A. degrees from the University of Iowa.

Lloyd Curtis Mann

Lloyd Curtis Mann, 85, of Newhall, formerly of Martensdale, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 2, 2020 at the Keystone Nursing Care Center.Private family services will be held with interment at the New Virginia Cemetery in New Virginia, IA.  A public memorial service will be held at a date to be announced in Martensdale.  Memorials may be directed to the Keystone Nursing Care Center.

Richard Lee Lindsey

Richard Lee Lindsey, 83, passed away Saturday, May 2, 2020 of natural causes.  A celebration of Richard’s life with military rites will be held at a later date. Richard was born July 2, 1936, the son of Carl and Lucille Blanchard Lindsey. He grew up and attended school in Vinton.  Richard served his country in the United States Marines from 1954 to 1956.
