VINTON: Luella E. Gipe, 87 passed away, Sunday, February 7, 2016 at the Vinton Lutheran Home following a stroke. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, February 10, 2016 at the Vinton Presbyterian Church with Rev.

Wayne B. Secor, 84, of Leander, Texas and formerly from Waterloo and Vinton, Iowa died peacefully from a short illness surrounded by his family on January 28, 2016.

ATKINS:  Arthur H. “Art” Taschner, 90 died Tuesday, February 2, 2016 at the Dennis & Donna Hospice House of Mercy in Hiawatha.

Dr. Vernon Arthur Brickley, 80, of Dixon, died Thursday, Jan. 28, 2016, surrounded by family. He was born Feb. 13, 1935, in Vinton, Iowa, to Grant and Gladys (Bender) Brickley.

FAIRFAX:          Mary Krug, 73, died Thursday, January 28, 2016 at St. Luke’s Hospital in Cedar Rapids following an extended illness.

David Ulysses Welch, 74, of Sanger, TX, passed away Wednesday, January 27, 2016.  He was born May 5, 1941 to Lloyd Welch and Alice Butler Welch in Vinton, IA.

BLAIRSTOWN:  Paul S. Hootman, 65, died Saturday, January 23, 2016 at his home following an extended illness.              Memorial Services will be held at 11 AM, Wednesday, January 27, 2016 at the Blairstown Legion Hall.

Virginia Squier, 91, of Vinton passed away January 21, 2016, at the Vinton Lutheran home.  According to Virginia's wishes, there will be no funeral service or visitation.
