Vinton-Shellsburg Viking Swimmers defeat Williamsburg Raiders

In the first ever head-to-head match-up the Vinton-Shellsburg Viking swimmers travelled to Williamsburg Thursday night and defeated the Raiders 106-50 in a battle of the only two WaMaC schools with swim programs.

Vikings record 29 new best times at home swim meet vs. Grinnell

Last night the Vinton-Shellsburg swim team battled Grinnell in their second of three home swim meets.  Despite registering perhaps their strongest performance of the season the young Vikings fell to Grinnell 66-28.

VAC swimmers do well at CRAA Winter Invite

Members of the Vinton Aquatic Club did well at the Cedar Rapids Aquatic Association Winter Invitational swim meet on Jan. 2-3, at Coe College. The VAC members won five first place medals in relay events, and more than 25 individual first-place medals during the competition.

Wamac East leader Maquoketa ends Viking win streak

The VS boys basketball team was expecting a challenge when they hosted Maquoketa on Tuesday. The Cardinals lead the Wamac East and have lost just once this season, by five points to Class 4A Davenport West.
