Coach Michelle Stepanek’s Vinton-Shellsburg volleyball team grabbed a solid runner-up finish at Saturday’s Meskwaki Settlement tournament.The Vikettes (5-2 overall) opened the day with a 13-21, 11-21 loss to fourth-rated North Tama, but bounced back from there.

The Vinton-Shellsburg Vikettes got the 2019 season off to flying start Tuesday night with a triangular sweep at Garrison Fieldhouse.Trouncing Midland of Wyoming in their opener, the Vikettes scored 25-12, 25-8, then closed out the night a 26-24, 25-23 sweep of Anamosa.
