GROWMARK New Century FS Receives ResponsibleAg Certification

 Company takes extra steps to assure it is safe and secure. New Century FS was honored today by achieving certification from ResponsibleAg. This is the third time that the New Century FS location in Vinton, Iowa has achieved this award. The ResponsibleAg Certification Program is the only program in the nation that provides a voluntary comprehensive assessment of agricultural facilities that store and handle farm input supplies such as fertilizer, crop protection products, seed, and fuel.

Old Hospital Pub to Open Wednesday, October 27 at 4:00 p.m.

The Old Hospital Pub, located on the old Braille School campus will open at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday night. The pub will be open until 9:30 p.m. and until 11:00 p.m. on the weekends. The kitchen closes at 9:30 p.m.on the weekend. The menu consists of the following appetizers: Buffalo Chicken Dip, 3 burger sliders, smoked wings, deviled eggs, soft homemade pretzels, pulled pork nachos.

Bobbins and Boards creates Handicapped-Accessible Baby Bed

Mr. Boards has just finished a very rewarding project. A few months ago, an expectant couple visited with a photo of a handicapped-accessible crib. You see, the young first-time mother-to-be is confined to a wheelchair and she wanted to be able to put her baby to bed.Now, Mr. Boards has built four three-in-one crib/toddler bed/full-size bed sets for his grandchildren but none of them were handicapped accessible.

Clipper Corner holds Annual Raffle to support Gifts of Hope

For the fourth year in a row, Clipper Corner will once again hold its annual Gift of Hope raffle this year. To be part of the raffle for their gift basket will be $5 per ticket or six for $25. Proceeds will once again go to support the Gifts of Hope program and will run through the end of October.TWO winners will be drawn on November 1st. There are two goodie bag and a bin filled with items that are up for raffle.

Tootsie's Annual Emergency Services Fundraiser to be held October 22-24

Support your local heroes! 10% of all sales from October 22-24 will be donated to the Vinton Fire Department to put toward the replacement of their MSA Self Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA) packs and bottles to remain within the NFPA standards. Tanner Davis Earns Certificate from Commercial Lending School

Tanner Davis, Loan Officer Tanner Davis of Cedar Valley Bank and Trust successfully completed the 2021 Iowa Bankers Association's Commercial Lending School held October 4-8th in Ankeny, Iowa.The school is an intense one-week program sponsored by the Iowa Bankers Association. The purpose of the IBA Commercial Lending School is to prepare commercial lenders who have not been exposed to formal commercial lending education or lenders who want to broaden their commercial lending knowledge to serve effectively and profitably as commercial loan officer.

Vinton Early Learning Center seeking bids

Request to BidDescription of services requested: Vinton Early Learning Center, formally known as Happy Time Child Development Center is seeking bids for lawn care and snow removal. Lawn care includes mowing and trimming and will need done 3-4 times a month during April-October. Lawn care would need to be done in the evening after 6 pm on the weekdays or anytime on the weekend.
