Both Tootsie's restaurant locations will be donating 10% of the sales on Friday, November 12 - Sunday, November 14, to their respective ambulance services.In Vinton, the North Benton proceeds will be utilized for training opportunities and the purchase of equipment.

Jess Fairbanks isn't new to the home care needs nor new to Vinton. Jess and her family reside here in Vinton. Fairbanks has had her business in the Cedar Falls location for four and half years. Currently, she has 56 employees in Cedar Falls and 12 here in Vinton.Fairbanks' heart is with serving the needs of our elderly, but she also serves anyone who needs her help. Company takes extra steps to assure it is safe and secure. New Century FS was honored today by achieving certification from
ResponsibleAg. This is the third time that the New Century FS location in Vinton, Iowa has achieved this
award. The ResponsibleAg Certification Program is the only program in the nation that provides a
voluntary comprehensive assessment of agricultural facilities that store and handle farm input supplies
such as fertilizer, crop protection products, seed, and fuel.
Old Hospital Pub to Open Wednesday, October 27 at 4:00 p.m.
The Old Hospital Pub, located on the old Braille School campus will open at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday night. The pub will be open until 9:30 p.m. and until 11:00 p.m. on the weekends. The kitchen closes at 9:30 p.m.on the weekend. The menu consists of the following appetizers: Buffalo Chicken Dip, 3 burger sliders, smoked wings, deviled eggs, soft homemade pretzels, pulled pork nachos. Mr. Boards has just finished a very rewarding project. A few months ago, an expectant couple visited with a photo of a handicapped-accessible crib. You see, the young first-time mother-to-be is confined to a wheelchair and she wanted to be able to put her baby to bed.Now, Mr. Boards has built four three-in-one crib/toddler bed/full-size bed sets for his grandchildren but none of them were handicapped accessible.
