McClure Financial Services: Update
McClure Financial is postponing all face to face client appointments until further notice. We are continuing to work on tax returns, payrolls and bookkeeping, but the office is closed to clients. Clients can deliver information for returns by dropping it through our letter slot or via U.S. Mail. We can also arrange to exchange information through our secure online portal.
Palace Theatre: Closed until further notice
In light of the Governor’s announcement last night to close Iowa schools for the next 4 weeks, and the CDC recommendation to avoid gatherings of groups of people greater than 50 for the next 8 weeks, the Palace Theatre will be closed until further notice.Thank you for understanding the need to prioritize the safety of our patrons, volunteers, and staff.

Vinton welcomed a new business to town. Bowers Best Discount Store is worth a trip if you've never visited one. Adding Vinton to their chain of stores, Bowers opened in Vinton on Leap Day. Hours are limited and the store is closed Monday - Wednesday.The Vinton store has clothing from sizes newborn to plus size, some furniture, bedding, health & beauty and more.
Eastern Iowa Hay Producers Association Annual Meeting & Conference
Area hay and forage producers are invited to attend the 37th Annual Eastern Iowa Hay Producers Association (EIHPA) Annual Meeting and Conference on Thursday, March 19, 2020 at Buzzy’s in Welton. Registration will begin at 10:00 a.m. with the program scheduled to begin at 10:30 a.m.This year’s speakers feature William Edwards, retired ISU Economist, and Dave Lubben, Monticello farmer.

Produce Safety Alliance courses offered across the state
Produce Safety Alliance courses will be held across the state during Fall 2019 and Winter 2020Iowa State University Extension and Outreach will host eleven Produce Safety Alliance Grower Training meetings through March 2020. The training sessions are for fruit and vegetable growers and others interested in learning about produce safety, the Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA) Produce Safety Rule, and Good Agricultural Practices (GAPs).
