Sec. Pate, ‘Election Security A Team’ assure voters of Iowa’s election integrity
Iowa Secretary of State Paul Pate gathered his ‘Election Security A Team’ for a news conference Thursday to reassure voters of the many steps taken to provide a secure election. Leaders of state and federal agencies were on hand at the Iowa National Guard’s Joint Forces Headquarters to provide information on what they’re doing to ensure a safe, smooth, and accurate voting process on November 8.
Secretary Pate expanding post-election audits to ensure integrity of the vote
Iowa Secretary of State Paul Pate is adding another layer of protection to Iowa’s electoral process by expanding post-election audits. All 99 counties will be required to conduct a hand count audit of two races following the November 2022 general election. Previously, they audited one race. One randomly selected precinct in each county will hand count the votes for the Governor’s race to match with the ballot tabulators to ensure the accuracy of the vote.

Benton County Sheriff Endorses Brenna Bird
Republican Attorney General Candidate Brenna Bird announced that she has received the endorsement of Benton County Sheriff Ron Tippett. The Sheriff believes Brenna Bird would be the best ally for law enforcement in the Attorney General’s Office. “Our law enforcement officers work selflessly to keep our streets, homes, and families safe,” said Bird.
