Drug distributors and Johnson & Johnson commit to $26 billion opioid agreement
Iowa to receive $174 million to fight the opioid crisis Iowa Attorney General Tom Miller announced today the final approval of the $26 billion opioid agreement with the nation’s three major pharmaceutical distributors – Cardinal, McKesson, and AmerisourceBergen – and Johnson & Johnson. Following successful state sign-on and subdivision sign-on periods, the defendants will start releasing funds to a national administrator on April 2, 2022.

On February 7, 2022, a meeting of the Shellsburg City Council was called to order by Mayor Speckner at 6:00 pm in the Council Chambers. Roll Call was answered by Harvey, Thorkildson, Travis, Vogt, and Reeves. Mayor Speckner opened a public hearing for Ordinance #467, to adopt the updated “Code of Ordinances.” There was discussion as to which chapters and items were updated.
