DPS LAUNCHES NEW MISSING PERSON WEBSITE, SEEKS PUBLIC’S ASSISTANCE

More than 300 Iowans are currently missing. The Iowa Department of Public Safety’s relaunch of the Missing Person Information Clearinghouse website – iowamissingpersons.com – provides an interactive design and advanced functions to make it easier to help identify and locate people. Established in 1985 within the Division of Criminal Investigation (DCI), the Missing Person Information Clearinghouse compiles, coordinates and disseminates information in relation to missing persons and unidentified body/persons.

Benton County Board of Supervisors Minutes 1/31/22

January 31, 2022The Benton County Board of Supervisors met in special session at the Emergency Management Agency Office in the Benton County Law Enforcement Center. Supervisor Primmer called the meeting to order at 6:00 P.M. Supervisors Seeman, Primmer and Bierschenk were also present. Unless otherwise noted, all actions were approved unanimously.The Supervisors and Sheriff’s staff had asked to meet with City officials regarding the dispatch services provided by Benton County.

Benton County Caucus held Monday Evening

Charlie McClintock a state senate candidate Monday night Benton County found the two major political parties holding the biennial caucus. It's a time for each party to create the platform that will go on to the state level outlining what each precinct would like to see included. This is also the time that each party officially begins the search for candidates to fill seats in the upcoming election.

Our fourth week under the golden dome was very busy, and Tuesday, February 1st was a special kind of busy! It was the 37th annual Iowa FFA Legislative Symposium, and I’d like to give a shout-out to the FFA chapters from Belle Plaine, Benton Community, Iowa Valley, Union, and Williamsburg high schools for visiting and proudly representing the invaluable field of agriculture.
