Hello, Iowa House District 84 from the State Capitol!
The Iowa House and Senate completed another busy week as members of both chambers conducted as many subcommittee and committee meetings as possible. Friday, February 16th will be the last day of the second funnel, which is the last week to get most of the bills passed out of their respective committees.I conducted two subcommittees this last week, House File 654 and HF 586. Benton County Republicans to Meet
The monthly Benton County Republican meeting takes place this coming Tuesday, February 13th, at the Van Horne Community Center in Van Horne (508 1st Ave) at 7 p.m. All Benton County Republicans are welcome to attend.
The Wall has Spoken, something new for the County Supervisors
Tuesday's meeting of the Benton County Supervisors kicked off with adjusted camera angles so that the speakers could not be seen on camera, but there was a great shot of the wall. Concern was expressed by Supervisor Rick Primmer that he thought that text messages or notes he was taking could be seen on camera. Neither is true. After the case was made, the editor zoomed in to see, if this was true, it’s not.
