When raising kids, there was one of them that I won't name who constantly said when he was in trouble, "When YOU be a kid, I'm gonna..." Well, when I "be a kid" next time I think I want to go to Shellburg Elementary as long as Principal Ryan Davis is still the principal.

I think the weatherman said that we hadn't seen snow on Halloween since the 1990's, so I guess we were due. Several children started their night out at the Blessed Hope parking lot where they made the rounds of all the trunks for a treat.

Vinton Woman Charged with Theft

An area Vinton woman has been accused of stealing more than $20,000 while she worked at the Nordstrom center in Cedar Rapids.The 48-year-old Rhonda Kies has been charged with theft and the preliminary hearing is scheduled for November 15th.
