There are two places that you can go to enjoy a step back in time.  The Sherman BuildingCindy Elwick has been busy borrowing a large collection of past and present scrapbooks from Vinton social clubs, service clubs, and other organizations, some back as far as 1890.

Awww shucks, corn, butter, friends and laughter

The fun is about to begin!  Starting at 7:00 on Saturday morning, people who love Vinton, gathered to start shucking corn for the day's event. Meeting behind the high school a group of volunteers started the task, at times in the rain, to begin the preparing about 4,000 ears of corn.

150th Parade Reminders

Lineup will begin at 1:00 pm at the Benton County Fairgrounds. The Vinton Kiwanis Club will be there to assist. The parade will begin rolling north up 2ndAvenue at 2:00 pm.
