Area children tour the youth gardens

On Thursday morning a group of area children visited the Community Youth Gardens on the north end of Vinton. Children from the school as well as Happy Time children took a field trip to the gardens ending the tour with a slice of watermelon grown in the garden.

Help needed to shuck about 4,000 ears of corn

Well, tomorrow is the day! I sure hope everyone is hungry for some sweet corn!Just a reminder if you and/or your family are willing to lend a hand, we would be grateful! We will gather in the back parking lot of the high school to husk 4,000+ ears of sweet corn.

Animals Seized from Brandon Home following welfare check
