Crash on Highway 30 takes life of Benton County resident
A semi vs. car crash took the life of an area resident on Friday evening.
A reported vehicle-semi collision happened at about 10:30 p.m. on Highway 30 east of Tama which resulted in the roadway being closed.
The crash was still under investigation on Saturday afternoon.
The Iowa State Patrol, Tama County Sheriff's deputies and Tama and Toledo police responded to the accident.

Editor's Note: The two main characters in this true story are David Tachay Heard (also known as Kill Bro Heard, Kill Bro, or Tashey) and Senior U.S. District Judge Linda R. Reade, who recently sentenced Heard to a third of a century in federal prison.
This week, Heard heard Reade read some sentences while pronouncing a sentence. Reade had read what Heard had done, and earlier had heard what Heard had done.

Open Enrollment Period to Purchase Individual Health Insurance Begins
Residents of Vinton looking to secure individual health insurance for 2019 need to act fast. November 1 marked the beginning of the 2019 Individual Open Enrollment Period (OEP), which is the only time when individuals under the age of 65 can enroll in health insurance coverage for themselves and families without a qualifying event. The 2019 OEP runs through December 15.
