Virginia Gay Hospital sponsored a movie night at the park on Monday evening as part of the Sesquicentennial celebration.Kicking the night off a book exchange was held in the Hummel Pavillion where children could trade up to 5 of their books for new-to-them books.

The fun is about to begin!  Starting at 7:00 on Saturday morning, people who love Vinton, gathered to start shucking corn for the day's event. Meeting behind the high school a group of volunteers started the task, at times in the rain, to begin the preparing about 4,000 ears of corn.
