Vinton has begun the task of exploring options for the next phase of the fiber optics project. The Vinton Municipal Electric Utilities Board has appointed a committee to begin research into the various aspects of the proposed broadband utilities.

According to recent data from the state, the vast majority of seniors have not yet filed the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Filing the FAFSA is essential in order to receive federal and state aid for college, whether it be grants or loans.

Clipper Corner Raises Funds for Gifts of Hope

In October, Clipper Corner held a raffle to raise money for the Gift of Hope program that offers help to those facing a breast cancer diagnosis. Clipper Corner raffled a pink purse full of over $300 worth of products at this event.

Vinton's Lions Club raises $3,100 for Eastern Iowa Honor Flights
