Tilford, Shellsburg art students share their work at school, and on Facebook
Are you tired of the rain?
Vinton-Shellsburg elementary art students are, too.
The students recently made drawings and clay faces to represent the weather, and their opinion of it. One student, Eli Powers, created a face sticking its tongue out at the weather.
Lindsey Otto, who teaches art at both Shellsburg and Tilford Elementary, has posted dozens of photos of the art projects completed by her students on the VS Elementary Art Room Facebook page.

Healthy soil (not dirt): How important it is for waterways
Please don’t call it dirt!
“Soil is, in fact, a very vibrant, living community,” declared Frederick L. Kirschenmann, distinguished fellow at the Leopold Center for Sustainable Agriculture at Iowa State University.
“There are more living organisms beneath the surface of the soil than there are above the surface,” Kirschenmann explained.
Fundraising Effort
At this point in our fund-raising campaign, we continue to make progress toward our goal, but still could use your help.
Please take a few moments to sit down with your checkbook and decided what you can afford to give.
As much as we'd LOVE to keep this completely FREE to everyone, there are some behind the scene costs that make this possible.
