Max O. Kimm, age 92, passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 9, 2022, at Colonial Manor in Amana. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM, Wednesday, April 13, 2022 at Grace Lutheran Church in Blairstown with Rev. Jeffrey Schanbacher officiating. Interment will follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4:00 until 7:00 PM, Tuesday, also at the church.

Bernice L. Langstraat, 87, of Vinton, died Friday, April 8, 2022 at the Vinton Lutheran Home. Services: 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 13, 2022, First Christian Church, Vinton by Pastor Richard Jumper. Burial: Maplewood Cemetery, Vinton. Friends may visit at the church on Wednesday from 9:30 until the time of service. Van Steenhuyse-Teahen Funeral Home is assisting the family.

Margaret Fuehrer, 94, passed away Tuesday April 5 at Westridge Care Center, Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Per Margaret’s request, there will be no service. Cedar Memorial will be in charge of her cremation. In lieu of flowers, donations may be given to Camp Courageous or the charity of the donor’s choice in Margaret’s name.Margaret is survived by two daughters, Vicki (Walter) Okerlund, of Cedar Rapids and Teresa (Brad) Hulick, of Annawan, Illinois; four grandchildren, Nikki Vance, Trevor Okerlund, Damon and Rhett Hulick; sister Evelyn (Carl) Boice, sister in-law Maxine Miller, several nieces and nephews and her dearest friend, Deanne Henkle.

Kenneth Ray McIlrath, 78, of Dubuque, formerly of Marion, Iowa, passed away Friday, April 1, 2022, at the Hawkeye Care Center in Asbury, Iowa. Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, April 7, at Marion Christian Church, 1050 McGowan Blvd., Marion, Iowa. Visitation will be held one hour prior, beginning at 10 a.m. at the church. Burial will follow at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.

Robert Wahlert, 79, of Walford, Iowa, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Thursday, March 31, 2022, at St. Luke's Hospital in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Visitation: 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday, April 10, at Cedar Hills Community Church in Cedar Rapids. Funeral service: 11 a.m. Monday, April 11, at the church. Private family burial will take place at Linwood Cemetery in Cedar Rapids.

Kurt K. Peters, 51, passed away to his heavenly home on Saturday, April 2, 2022 with his loving family by his side at the Donna and Dennis Oldorf Hospice House from complications of a stroke. Per Kurt’s request he was cremated. Private family burial at Urbana Cemetery. A Celebration of Life will be held at the Monarch Room at Teahen Funeral Home on Saturday, April 9, 2022 from 1 to 3 p.

Devon Gene Ruchotzke, 54, of Waterloo, died Tuesday, March 29, 2022, in Harmony House Health Center in Waterloo. Services were held at Hope Lutheran Church in Cedar Rapids with burial at Inland Cemetery in Bennett, Iowa.Devon was born June 24, 1967, in Cedar Rapids, the son of Larry and Linda Ruchotzke. Devon loved everyone he met. Those that got to know him loved him just as much.

Mary Grace (Stull) Beck, 83, of Belle Plaine, IA passed away on March 31, 2022, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics.Mary Grace (Stull) Beck was born on Feb 27, 1939, in Tama County, IA to Ora Clyde and Florence (Hand) Stull. Mary was a compassionate, beautiful soul with a smile that would brighten any room. Mary graduated Capri Cosmetology in 1972 and spent most of her career as a hairdresser in Belle Plaine.

Kevin Jay Simnacher, 61, of Cedar Rapids, passed away on Wednesday, December 22, 2021.A Celebration of Life for Kevin will be held on Saturday, April 9, 2022, 10:00 a.m. at the Blessed Hope Community Church with Pastor Matt Hantz officiating. He was born to Robert and Phyllis (Martin) Simnacher in Vinton, Iowa. He graduated from Vinton High School in 1979 and obtained a graphics art degree in 1981 at Hawkeye Community College.
