David Robert Reisch, age 53, passed away on Thursday, November 24, 2022, at Virginia Gay Nursing and Rehab.  Private family services will be held. David was born on March 18, 1969, in Ottumwa, IA, the son of Max and Marilyn (Greene) Reisch.  He graduated from Washington High School in Vinton with the class of 1987.  David worked as a cement mason and finisher.

Marilyn Jean Eddards, age 74, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 23, 2022 at Unity Point St. Luke’s Hospital in Cedar Rapids. Private family services will be held. Marilyn was born on March 20, 1948, in Arlington Heights, Illinois to Ervin and Rose (Schwartz) Allison.  She was united in marriage to Glen Eddards.  Glen passed away at a young age, and Marilyn raised her children on her own.

Eugene F. "Jim" Garthoff, 89, of Elk Run Heights, died on Saturday, November 26, 2022 at home.Eugene was born on February 27, 1933 in Waterloo, son of Phillip Jr. and Lois (Weldon) Garthoff.He married Lucille A. Curtis on January 27, 1951 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Waterloo; she preceded him in death on August 19, 2021.Eugene worked in maintenance for 32 years at John Deere until retiring December 13, 1991.

Ronald Henry "Ronnie" "Pete" Peters, 88, of La Porte City passed away peacefully on Friday, November 25, 2022, while a resident of La Porte City Specialty Care. He was born on January 26, 1934, in Black Hawk County Iowa, the son of Louie and Esther Edmonds Peters. Ronnie married Mary Patricia Wolf on April 2, 1960, and the couple was blessed with three children.

Norma Joan (Coover) Andresen, 86, of Spirit Lake, IA, formerly of Keystone, IA, was called to heaven on Friday, November 18, 2022, from Lakes Regional Healthcare in Spirit Lake. Her children were at her bedside. Memorial Services will be held at 2:30 pm, Saturday, December 3, 2022, at the Phillips Funeral Home Chapel in Keystone, IA. Rev. Brian Jack, of Milford, IA, will officiate.

Betty Jean Roberta McElhaney, age 90, of Clarksville, Iowa, was born the daughter of Ernest “Virgo” and Margaret (Rahn) Jacobsen on November 14, 1932, in Denver, Iowa.  Betty graduated from Maynard High School in Maynard, Iowa. She then attended two years at Gates College.On Easter Sunday, April 5, 1953, Betty was united in marriage with Richard Leo McElhaney at First Lutheran Church in Maynard.

Robert “Rob” Norman Wheeler, 64, of Webster, Wis., formerly of Hiawatha, Iowa, passed away on Friday, Nov. 18, 2022, at Regions Hospital in Saint Paul, Minn. Visitation will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 29, 2022, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Marion, Iowa. Graveside service with full military honors will begin at 10:30 a.

Leah Miller, 88, died Monday, November 21, 2022 at Windsor Manor, Vinton. Memorial services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 3, 2022 at Blessed Hope Church, Vinton. Van Steenhuyse-Teahen Funeral Home of Vinton is caring for Leah’s family.Leah is survived by five sons: Rick (Jackie) Miller of Rowlett, TX, Gary (Kathy) Miller of La Porte City, Doug Miller of Ankeny, Greg (Nancy) Miller of Humboldt and Dwight (Wendy) Miller of Broxton, GA; one daughter, Dianne (Jim) Blocker of Oxford, MI; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and two sisters-in-law, Evelyn Covington of Hiawatha and Vivian Covington of Vinton.

Lane M. Lafler, age 60, passed away peacefully on Monday, November 20, 2022 at his home in Marion.  Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM, Saturday, November 26, 2022 at the Phillips Funeral Home in Keystone with Chris Lafler officiating.  Interment will be held at the Keystone Cemetery.  Friends may call from 4:00 until 7:00 PM Friday, November 25, 2022 at the funeral home.

Richard Eugene Parke, age 90, passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 20, 2022, at Living Center West in Cedar Rapids.  Private family memorial services will be held at Church of Grace in Shellsburg. Richard was born on September 5, 1932, in Eldon, IA, the son of Edgar and Bertha (Doud) Parke.  He graduated from Farmington High School with the class of 1950.
