Maybeth Graham, 85, of Brandon, Iowa died Wednesday, March 23, 2022, at the Virginia Gay Nursing and Rehab Center in Vinton, Iowa.Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, April 1, 2022 at the Reiff Family Center, Independence, with burial in the Brandon Cemetery, Brandon. Friends may call from 3 to 7 p.m. Thursday and from 9 to 10:30 a.m.

Kevin Jay Simnacher

Kevin Jay Simnacher, 61, of Cedar Rapids, passed away on Wednesday, December 22, 2021.A Celebration of Life for Kevin will be held on Saturday, April 9, 2022, 10:00 a.m. at the Blessed Hope Community Church with Pastor Matt Hantz officiating. He was born to Robert and Phyllis (Martin) Simnacher in Vinton, Iowa. He graduated from Vinton High School in 1979 and obtained a graphics art degree in 1981 at Hawkeye Community College.

Verlyn Wilfrid Rieck

Verlyn Wilfrid Rieck, 74 of Luzerne, IA passed away March 21,2022 at his home.Verlyn was born November 25, 1947, to Vernon and Helen (Duncalf) Rieck.  He graduated from Benton Community High School, Class of 1966.  Verlyn furthered his education by attending Iowa State University and received his bachelor’s degree in 1971 in Farm Operation.

Wendy Chris Watson

Wendy Chris Watson passed away after a brief illness on March 3, 2022.Wendy was born Jan. 8, 1955, in Marshalltown, Iowa, to Winston and Lois Watson. Wendy was the oldest of four children. She grew up in Vinton, Iowa, where she graduated high school in 1973. She attended the University of Iowa. After college, Wendy managed Betty's Fashions in Vinton for her mom and Aunt Doris Meredith.

Dave Kelchner

Dave Kelchner, 64, of Luzerne, passed away March 22, 2022. A Celebration of Life will be held from 3 to 6 p.m. Sunday, March 27, 2022, at the Swisher American Legion, Swisher, Iowa.Dave is survived by his daughters, Nicki (Ryan) Bulicek, Sara (Brett) Cahill, Tina Kelcher and Tara (Mike) Toyne; nine grandchildren; and nephews, Josh and Shannon Kelchner.

Nick A. Venenga

Nick A. Venenga, age 45, passed away on Tuesday, March 22, 2022, with his loving family by his side, at Unity Point St. Luke’s Hospital in Cedar Rapids, following an apparent heart attack. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM, Monday, March 28, 2022 at the Phillips Funeral Home Chapel (212 E. 6th Street) in Vinton.  Interment will follow at the Palo Cemetery.

Marlene Dismore, 81, of Cassville, passed away Wednesday, March 16, 2022, at Roaring River Health and Rehabilitation in Cassville.She was born March 9, 1941, in Sibley, Iowa, the daughter of Earl and Marie (Norman) Lauber. On Oct. 24, 1959, in Cedar Falls, Iowa, she was united in marriage to Manford “Butch” Dismore, who survives. Additional survivors include: are two sons, Tony Dismore and his wife Brenda of Rio Rancho, N.

Thomas J. Brunson

Thomas J. Brunson, 68, of Spring Valley, Minn., died on Sunday, February 19, 2022, at Mayo Clinic- St. Marys Campus in Rochester, Minn.Tom J. Brunson was born in Des Moines, Iowa, on November 24, 1953, to Thomas and Ruth (Murphy) Brunson.He attended school in Des Moines and later moved to a farm in Minnesota. He attended school at Caledonia, where he then enlisted in the Navy from 1973-1981.

Warren Carl Anderson

Warren Carl Anderson, 94 died on February 12, 2022, at his home in Grinnell, Iowa. Warren was born March 30, 1927, on the family farm in rural Vinton. The son of William and Cora Anderson the eighth of ten children born to this union. He received his education from his life experiences, country, and Vinton schools.In 1949 he married Lorrene Fennern to which a son Steven, and daughter Colleen were born.
