Patricia ‘Pat’ Lynne Hawkins Deklotz, 73, of Atkins, Iowa, departed this life peacefully on Tuesday, February 7, 2023. She was surrounded by love and family. A visitation will be held at St. Stephen’s Lutheran Church in Atkins, IA on Friday, February 10, from 4pm-7pm.  Funeral services will be held at 10:30am at St. Stephen’s Lutheran Church in Atkins with Rev.

Paula Joyce Pecenka, 96, of Belle Plaine, IA passed away February 3, 2023 at her home.She was born August 7, 1926 to Lester “Babe” and Gladys (Freeman) Anderson. She graduated from Belle Plaine High School, class of 1944. Following school, Paula worked at a Belle Plaine grocery store.On November 30, 1947 Paula married Franklin Martin Pecenka. Together they farmed and raised livestock north of Belle Plaine for 56 years, until retirement.

Lynn Keith “Skip” Ackman was born on January 22, 1958 in Manchester Iowa, the son of Harry “Carl” and Bettie (Wessel) Ackman. He passed away after a courageous battle with cancer in St. Luke’s Hospice Care in Cedar Rapids, IA. on his 65th Birthday, January 22, 2023 after having a celebration of birth and life just the day before. He currently resided in Parkersburg, IA.

Helen Yundt, 86, of Vinton, died peacefully Thursday, February 2, 2023 at Bickford of Marion.  Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m.  Saturday, February 11, 2023 at Wesley United Methodist Church, Vinton, with Pastor Brian Channel officiating.  Visitation will be held at the church from 9:00 a.m. until time of service.  Private burial will be held at a later date.

Darby D. Stein, age 64, died Thursday, February 2, 2023, at Virginia Gay Hospital in Vinton.Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM, Tuesday, February 7, 2023, at the Phillips Funeral Home Chapel, (212 E. 6th Street) in Vinton, with Rev. Anne Williams officiating.  Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery in Vinton. Visitation will be held from 4:00 until 8:00 PM on Monday at the funeral home.

Juanita Marie (Angell) Hargrave, age 80, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 31, 2023 at home after an extended battle with ovarian cancer. A visitation will be held at Phillips Funeral Home (212 E. 6th Street) in Vinton on Thursday, February 2nd from 5:00 until 7:00 PM.   Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 3rd at 11:00 AM, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Vinton with Pastor Steven Preus officiating and a luncheon to follow at the church.

Surrounded by her loving family, Lainey Michelle Robertson, 15, passed away peacefully Monday, January 30, 2023 at the University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics, Iowa City, after battling a long illness. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, February 3 at the Oak Grove Church, Shellsburg, with Pastor Matt Magee officiating. Visitation will be held at the church from 4-7 p.

Scott Alan Schallau, age 54, died Saturday, January 28, 2023, from injuries suffered in a snowmobile accident.Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM, Thursday, February 2, 2023, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church Van Horne, with Rev. Craig Steimel as Celebrant.  Burial will follow in Keystone Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 3:00 until 7:00 PM on Wednesday at the church in Van Horne.

Mary (Netta) Siefken, age 101, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 27, 2023 at Belle Plaine Specialty Care.Graveside services will be held at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Blairstown in the spring, followed by a reception at the Blairstown Presbyterian Church.Mary was born on August 30, 1921 in Shiloh Township, Grundy County, Iowa, the daughter of John and Nettie (Harms) Stutzman.

Marlys Marie Floyd 86, of Cedar Rapids died Friday, January 27, 2023 at the home of her daughter.  Services: 10:30 am, Wednesday, at St. Patrick Catholic Church by Rev. Dennis Miller.  Burial:  St. Joseph Cemetery.  Friends may visit with the family on Wednesday after 9:30 a.m.  Teahen Funeral Home is serving the family.Marlys is survived by two sons, Gary and Jeff Floyd both of Cedar Rapids; two daughters, Becky (Doug) Pippert of Keystone and Cindy Crow of Luzerne; 8 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren; two brothers, Robert of Missoula, Montana and Michael (Berta) Williams of Norman, Idaho; and sister, Tammy (Jim) Jahner of Kalispell, Montana.
