Darold Laackmann

Darold Laackmann 71,  of Dysart, formerly of Keystone, died Sunday, August 21, 2022, peacefully at his home with the care of Cedar Valley Hospice, after a courageous battle with Lymphoma. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Thursday, August 25, 2022 at the Dysart United Methodist Church, with Rev. Linda Thompson officiating.  Interment will be held at 1:15 PM at the Keystone Cemetery with graveside military rites.

Shirley (Williams) Tumilty

Shirley (Williams) Tumilty, age 92, passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 21, 2022, at the Vinton Lutheran Home.Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM, Thursday, August 25, 2022, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Vinton with Rev. Stephen Preus officiating.  Interment will be held at Big Grove Cemetery rural Garrison.  Visitation will be held from 9:00 AM until service time on Thursday, also at the church.

Lois Arlene Buck Boone

Lois Arlene Buck Boone went to her eternal home on Wednesday, August 17, 2022, in Seymour, Indiana. She was born to Ivan and Vera (Moseley) Buck on June 13, 1926, in LaPorte City, Iowa, the second born of five children. Instilled in her were the values of: faith, family, and farm. Lois loved to learn and teach. She graduated from LaPorte City High School in 1942 and from Indiana Wesleyan University (formerly Marion College) in 1949 where she earned her teaching degree.

Constance "Connie" Andrews

Constance "Connie" Andrews, 76, formerly of LaPorte City passed away in LeRoy, MN on Friday, August 19, 2022 at her home. She is now dancing in the sky and singing with the angels.Constance, a 2x breast cancer survivor, was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer a year ago. Although she gave it her super hero fight, this one proved to be tougher than she is.

James Robert Bex

James Robert Bex, 76, went home peacefully to his heavenly father on August 12, 2022, with his wife Joan and children at his side.Jim was born November 21, 1945, in Ironwood, Michigan, the son of Robert and Maxine (Rouse) Bex.On January 22, 1973, Jim was united in marriage with Joan Segebarth.Jim worked at Northwestern Bell, retiring from QWest with 40 years of service.

John J. Lacey Sr.

John J. Lacey Sr., 85, passed away Friday, August 19, 2022, at Hospice of Mercy in Hiawatha, with his family by his side.A scripture service will be held at 4:00 PM, Thursday, August 25, 2022, at the Phillips Funeral Home Chapel (212 E. 6th Street) in Vinton, followed by visitation until 7:00 PM.  Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM Friday, August 26, 2022 at St.

Diane Marie Wheeler

Diane Marie Wheeler, 68 of Keystone, passed away after a three year battle with Melanoma Skin Cancer, on August 18, 2022 at her family’s farm in Watkins. Diane was born on November 24, 1953 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the daughter of Donald and Joyce (DeKlotz) Wheeler. She was the fourth oldest of nine children. After graduating in 1972, from Benton Community, she received a degree from the University of Arkansas.

Karen M. Peshel

Karen M. Peshel, 80, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, passed away Sunday, Aug. 14, 2022, at her home. A visitation will be held from 1 to 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 27, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Cedar Rapids. A funeral service will take place at 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 27, at the funeral home. Per the family’s wishes, the casket will remain closed for visitation and service.

Dana Lynn Tow

Dana Lynn Tow, age 66 of Atkins, IA, passed away peacefully in his sleep at home on Saturday, August 13, 2022. His wife, Linda, was at his side. Dana was born July 16, 1956 in Minneapolis, MN to Rodney and Janice Tow. He spent the first half of his childhood in Minnetonka and the latter half in Marine on St. Croix, MN. He graduated Stillwater High School in 1974.

Carrol Ann Stark

Carrol Ann Stark went to see her Lord Tuesday, August 16, 2022. Per mom’s wishes, there will be a private family funeral at a later date. Carrol was born on July 28, 1935 to Frank and Grace Brecht. She was the youngest of five children. She was born and raised in Norway, Iowa. She attended Norway School and graduated in 1953.  She was a cheerleader at NHS, played the piano and competed in a music recital.
