Ruth Leona Dunkel, formerly of Alburnett, Iowa, passed away peacefully at age 94 on Saturday, August 27, 2022, at her home in Port Saint Lucie, Florida, where she lived for the past 12 years. A visitation will be held from 4:00 pm – 8:00 pm on Monday, September 5, 2022, at Murdoch Funeral Home, Center Point, Iowa. The funeral service will take place at 1:00 pm on Tuesday, September 6, 2022, at the funeral home.

Arlene Cook, 91, died at her home Thursday, September 1, 2022.Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 7, 2022 at Van Steenhuyse-Teahen Funeral Home, Vinton. Visitation will be 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 6, 2022 at the funeral home. Burial will follow services at Garrett Cemetery, Delta, at approximately 3:30 p.m.Arlene is survived by her son, Brian (Penny) Cook of Atkins; daughters: Lesia (Sherman) Ubben of Traer and Susan Davis (Frank) of Newhall; two stepchildren: Rick (Nancy) Capps of Washington and Brenda (Dan) Gonnerman of Florissant, MO; eight grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; nine step-grandchildren; eight step-great-grandchildren; and numerous other family members.

Kaye Lynne Konicek
Kaye Lynne Konicek, 74, of Traer, passed away on Sunday, August 28th in her home after a short battle with cancer. Kaye was born on August 21st 1948 in Vinton, Iowa. She was the daughter of William and Veronica (Kelly) Hite. She was raised in Dysart, Iowa and attended Dysart Geneseo School, graduating in the class 1966.On May 21st, 1977, Kaye married Gary Konicek.

Betty M. Carlson, 96, died peacefully Saturday, August 27, 2022 at Ravenwood Specialty Care in Waterloo.Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, September 2, 2022 at St. Mary Catholic Church, Vinton. Visitation will be held at the church from 9 a.m. until time of service. Burial will be at St. Patrick- St. Paul Cemetery, Watkins. Van Steenhuyse-Teahen Funeral Home is serving the family.
Craig E. Hesson
Craig E. Hesson, 71, of Marion, Iowa. formerly of Shellsburg, Iowa, went to be with Lord on August 23, 2022 at his home surrounded by his loving family. Craig was born on August 14, 1951 to Keith and Maribelle (Main) Hesson in Newton, Iowa. Craig loved the farm life, raising hogs, and Allis Chalmers tractors. The Hesson family moved to Vinton, Iowa in 1969, where Craig graduated from Washington High School in 1970.
William A. Schulte
William was born August 20, 1933, youngest of William and Anna (Thoman) Schulte in Norway, IA. Bill was raised on the family farm in rural Norway, graduating from Walford High School. Following school, Bill enlisted into the U.S. Army, serving in the Korean War. Upon his return he went to Coyne Electrical School in Chicago. As an electrician, Bill worked at several places, including Quaker Oats in Cedar Rapids, IA.
Blanche Ann Lovell
Blanche Ann Lovell, 88, went to her eternal home on August 23, 2022. A Celebration of Life will be held on August 27, 12:00 pm at Harvest 365, 1201 C Ave, Vinton. Blanche was born November 7, 1933 to Bertha Wart and Henry Paul in Waukegan, IL. She graduated from Lincoln High School in 1952. On May 29, 1952 she married Lyle W.
Wallace Gene Williams
Wallace Gene WilliamsSurrounded by his children, Wallace 89 years of age, passed away, after suffering from Lewy Body Dementia. Wallace was born in Belle Plaine, Iowa to Horatio Claude and Helen Belle Williams.Wallace lived a full life. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. He earned a BA in Business from Portland State University. After moving to Oregon he went to work for Southern Pacific Railroad, advancing to Locomotive Engineer, and was an officer in the union.
