James Owen Fuller, 85 of Brandon passed away September 16, 2022 at Virginia Gay Annex in Vinton with complications from a motor vehicle accident. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, September 21, 2022 at Wesley United Methodist Church in Vinton, with Rev. Brian Channel officiating.  Interment with military rites will be held at Cedar Crest Cemetery on Carter Avenue, East of Jesup at 1:30 PM Wednesday.

Dolores Irene Nedrow, 81, of Independence, Iowa died Thursday, September 15, 2022, at Unity Point St. Luke’s Hospital in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.Dolores was born on February 7, 1941, in Vinton, Iowa the daughter of Loren and Mary (Gust) Rammelsberg. She graduated with the class of 1959 from the Brandon High School, Brandon, Iowa. On April 2, 1960, she was united into marriage to Ralph Nedrow in Vinton, Iowa.

John Deklotz, 79, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, September 14, 2022, following a sudden illness. Memorial Services will be held at 1:30 pm, Thursday, September 22, 2022, at the Phillips Funeral Home Chapel (212 E. 6th Street) in Vinton, with Rev. Douglas Woltemath officiating.  Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 4:00 until 8:00 PM on Wednesday.

Shelby Usher, age 31, passed away on Tuesday, September 13, 2022, in Center Point.No public services are planned.Shelby was born on April 22, 1991, in Cedar Rapids, the daughter of Kenny and Shelley (Rule) Usher.  She grew up in Vinton and graduated from Vinton-Shellsburg High School in 2009.  Shelby loved frogs and was proud of being born on Earth Day.

-Dorothy Mae Rouse, 96, died Wednesday, September 14, 2022 at the Vinton Lutheran Home. Private graveside services will be held at a later date. Van Steenhuyse-Teahen Funeral Home is assisting Dorothy’s family.Dorothy is survived by her son, Don (Pat) Rouse of Vinton; daughter, Shirlee (Jim) Jessop of Vinton; four grandchildren: Scott (Julie) Rouse, Lori (Rich) Miracle, Jaimie (Steve) Kohl and Tadd (Karley) Jessop; and seven great-grandchildren: Aspen and Italia Rouse, Kylie, Conner and Kinzzy Miracle and Mattison and Sydney Walker.

William Duane Bartosh, 86 of Belle Plaine, Iowa went to see the Lord on Tuesday, September 13, 2022, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics.  A celebration of life will be from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM on Saturday, October 1, 2022, at the Community Center in Belle Plaine, Iowa.  Bill was born on November 22, 1935, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa the son of William and Carol (White) Bartosh.

Betty Ann (Covington) Long, 83, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, passed away on Sunday, September 11, 2022, at St. Luke’s Hospital in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Funeral Service: 10:30 a.m. Saturday, September 17, 2022, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Cedar Rapids with visitation to begin one hour prior at the funeral home. Graveside committal will also be on Saturday at 2 p.

On Saturday, September 3, 2022, Eleanor Jane Henecke of Palo, Iowa passed away.  A lifelong resident of the Palo/Shellsburg Iowa area, Jane as she was known, was born on April 18th, 1939 to Eldon and Alberta (Railsback) Minor.  On August 8, 1959 she married her husband David (Henecke) of almost 60 years together until his passing in 2019.  Visitation will be held Saturday, September 17th at Cedar Memorial’s Chapel of memories from 9:00 am to 10:30 am directly followed at 10:30 by a Celebration of Life ceremony.

Vivian Charlotte Robinson, 88, died Sunday, September 11, 2022 at Mercy Hospital, Cedar Rapids. Mass of Christian Burial: 10:30 a.m. Friday, St. Mary Catholic Church, Vinton with Father Jim Brokman as Celebrant. Burial: Oakwood Cemetery, Shellsburg at 1:00 p.m. A Rosary will be recited at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday at St. Mary Catholic Church. Those not attending the Rosary may visit with the family from 5:30–8:00 p.

Sandra "Sandy" Drew, 79, of Vinton, died at her residence Saturday, September 10, 2022 surrounded by her loving family.A Celebration of Life will be held from 4:00-7:00 p.m. Saturday, October 8, 2022 at Sandy's home, 2886 61st Street Lane, Lot 10, Vinton. Van Steenhuyse-Teahen Funeral Home is assisting the family.Sandy is survived by her husband, Clark of Vinton; two daughters: Melisa Cooper of Cedar Rapids and Crystal (Mark) Freitager of Delhi; one son, Gary Cooper of Cedar Rapids; five grandchildren: Carly Cooper, Evan Freitager (Paige Anderson), Calese Clemens, Cole Cooper and Caleb Clendenen; brother, Daniel Steggall of the Phillipines; sister-in-law, Cheryl Steggall of Cedar Rapids; sisters and brothers-in-law: Kevin (Terri) Drew, Craig (Kris) Drew, Kurt (Tia) Drew all of Cedar Rapids, Kelly (Jill) Drew of FL and Beth (Gus) Hartauer of IN; and several nieces and nephews.
